Cooling Tower Inspections

An Important Tool for Owners and Operators

Operate with Confidence ▪ Empower Your Team

Inspections are the only way to understand the present condition of your cooling tower. They aid in diagnosing issues, identifying areas for improvement, and assist in long term capital repair planning.

Tex Tenn delivers comprehensive inspections that provide a complete picture of a cooling tower’s condition. Through our reports, we’ll communicate our findings and provide definitive recommendations aligned with the objectives of your facility.

Not all Inspections are Created Equal

The findings uncovered during an inspection will influence decisions made at a facility, so it’s imperative that reports are thorough and accurate.

At Tex Tenn, we are committed to devoting the time and attention necessary to deliver a quality inspection and written report for our customers.

Below are some of the unique benefits we provide as an inspection partner:

An Independent Perspective
Because we do not offer repair or construction services, our recommendations come from a truly independent, third-party perspective.

Reports with Definitive Conclusions
Inspection reports should be more than a list of damaged components. Our reports draw definitive conclusions and clearly outline the details behind each of our recommendations.

Our Primary Service
Inspections are the foundation to our business model. Our inspectors are experienced and train continuously to improve their inspection skill set.

Construction and Project Experience
Our team has more than 30 combined years of experience from construction job sites, and is deeply familiar with industry standards and best practices.

We Deliver Inspections that Empower.

Structural Analysis

A Key Tool in Maintaining Reliability

One of the primary issues facing aging cooling towers is the matter of structural integrity. With age, nearly all cooling towers will face structural failures and it’s crucial that the state of the structure is continuously monitored. Employing proactive maintenance strategies can aid in maintaining tower reliability.

Our team can determine the condition of your cooling tower structure and make repair recommendations to ensure your tower remains on-line and functioning.

Wood Structure Analysis

A Scientific Approach to Wood Health

Wood poses a unique challenge in terms of reliability and repair planning. We recommend regular inspections of aging wood cooling towers because lumber is susceptible to failure modes that other materials are not. This includes internal rot, leaching of treatment, reduction in mechanical properties over time, and water erosion.

Tex Tenn can provide an assessment of the structure to better understand the integrity of the lumber. By harvesting samples from the cooling tower and subjecting them to destructive testing, we can determine the current mechanical properties of the wood, assess the amount of treatment left, and detect rot.

We can then average the findings across the structure and subject the design to a loading analysis. This will yield a definitive conclusion on the overall health of the structure.

Sometimes the “screw driver test” is not enough. This is a more refined, scientific approach for understanding the condition of the wood structure.
